Migrant movement has much more impact in EU countries, where many migrant communities join together in order to achieve their rights. To empower migrants and refugees in Croatia, Public Forum introduced them with experience of migrant movements in other European countries. Migrants and refugee groups from Sweden and Austria as well as from UK and Germany shared their experience with migrant and refugee groups in Croatia, but also with participants of Peace Studies program. The forum lasted for three days and included public lectures and workshops.

For three days those groups discussed on three topics: integration activities and needs of women; sport as a tool for integration and housing issues. These three topics were chosen by refugees and migrants in Croatia as the most important for them as well as those they would like to know more and be more active.

At the public part of the event initiatives and organizations that have been initiated, run by or in which refugees and migrants have an active role - Refugees Welcome Stockholm, Ung and Sverige, United Glasgow, Welcome United, Taste of home, Refugees Welcome International- were presented. Some of them are related to migrants’ and refugees’ rights and some are dealing with broader issues. Also, through these examples different contexts and realities in EU were discussed as well as what is perceived as good result or goals gained.
